Saint Francis of Assisi Parish is excited to welcome their new pastor, Father David Darcy, who arrives on November 1st. Fr. Darcy is welcomed home, as prior to his family’s relocation, Father Darcy and his family were active parishioners of the St. Francis parish community. He was educated in the Belchertown school system and is a graduate of Belchertown High School. He is an alumnus of St. John’s Seminary, Brighton, MA and has been a pastor in several communities within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield, MA. Fr. Darcy’s Silver Jubilee Celebration, marking his 25th Anniversary of priesthood, took place on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Holy Cross Parish, Springfield, MA where he was most recently assigned. This past summer, Bishop Mitch Rozanski of the Diocese of Springfield appointed Fr. Darcy and Fr. Michael Wood as Co-directors of Vocations for the Diocese. With his arrival, Father Darcy will be the 14 th pastor to spiritually shepherd the congregation since the arrival of our first pastor Reverend James Dunphy in 1925.
